Privacy Policy

This, friends, is a page required for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), particularly applicable to me since I am a EU-based website owner. I’m using mostly recommended text below, but I’ve tried to modify it to fit my particular website’s needs. For instance, comments aren’t enabled on my author website (though they are on my blog) so I’ve removed all text related to leaving comments.

What is most important for you to know is that I really don’t use your data in any way, except occasionally to check which website pages my readers visit to improve content, and to send you newsletters if you opt in to my mailing list – to which you can unsubscribe at any time. I also respond if you send me a contact email. That’s it. Your data is safe with me. However, to be completely compliant, please read on …

Who we are

Our website address is: https://www.jenniegoutet.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Contact forms

If you contact me via the contact form, I’ll have your email address and name, and I’ll use it only to respond to you. I won’t give it to anyone else or use it for any other purpose. For the mailing list, if you sign up, I’ll use your email address to send you newsletters until you decide you wish to unsubscribe. I won’t give it to anyone else or use it for any other purpose.

Embedded content from other websites *

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

  • * I’ve kept this text on place by precaution because I believe the Amazon links to my books or links on my Press page might be applicable.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments (not sure if this applies but I’m keeping it just in case), you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

My Contact Information

Jennie Goutet: aladyinfrance@gmail.com

I am required to have a physical address listed as well. However, whenever possible, kindly contact me by email as opposed to snail mail because I have to pay for every letter they forward. Thanks!
